Liuchi Li directs the Li Research Group at Princeton University.
He is particularly interested in understanding how the mechanics of contact, friction, and fracture shape the behaviors of complex material systems (e.g., phase transition of granular media) across (time and length) scales. He also constantly thinks about how such fundamental understandings could be harnessed for novel and useful engineering applications (see the Pasteur's quadrant).
Outside of research, he enjoys casual reading, rock climbing, skiing (when the weather allows), playing tennis and pickleball.
