About
Bio/Description

Kunyu Yang is a postdoctoral research associate in the Li Research Group at Princeton University.

His research develops high-performance computational mechanics and multiphysics frameworks for understanding and engineering strongly coupled systems across the natural and built environments. He focuses on fluid–structure interaction, granular mechanics and geomechanics, and multiphysics-driven fracture, integrating numerical, experimental, and data-driven methods to uncover the fundamental mechanics of these systems and to translate that understanding into predictive frameworks and engineering solutions. His work aims to enable resilient, adaptive, and intelligent infrastructure, as well as sustainable energy and resource systems. His research interests include computational mechanics, multiphysics modeling, fluid–structure interaction, granular and fracture mechanics, high-performance computing, and scientific machine learning.

In his spare time, he enjoys walking his dog, playing soccer and tennis, and swimming.
