Xiwei (Peter) Pan is currently a second-year Ph.D. student in the Li Research Group.

His research interests lie at the intersection of computational mechanics, applied mathematics, and machine learning, with a focus on developing efficient and accurate methods for problems involving (multi-body) contact and friction. He also explores how these methods can be used to facilitate the (inverse) design of (meta-) materials and structures towards the interaction between the built and natural environment.

Outside of research, he enjoys working out, photography, blogging, and playing ping-pong.
