Xiwei just gave his first conference presentation at USNC-TAM 2026 in Pasadena, CA. He talked about his ongoing work on a fundamentally new formulation of the Discrete Element Method (DEM) that could open up various new possibilities in understanding (and even designing) the rheology of frictional suspensions and the mechanics of contact-driven metamaterials.
